Joe M. Garavaglia was born on July 20, 1982 in Kirkwood, Missouri to Gary and Sharon Garavaglia of Saint Louis County, Missouri. He received his High School Diploma in 2001 from Mehlville Senior High School (1997-2001). Joe M. Garavaglia currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with an emphasis in Management and Organizational Behavior (MOB) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He plans to start taking the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Exam in June 2008. While attending the University of Missouri-St. Louis Joe M. Garavaglia received the Edward and Catherine Condon Accounting Scholarship (2004-2005) and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges (2005). He was also inducted into seven honor societies including The Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi, Golden Key International Honour Society, Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, Tau Sigma Honor Society, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2006. In addition to academic achievement, Joe M. Garavaglia also held leadership positions in several student organizations at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. These organizations included, Aiesec UMSL (Vice-President of Finance), Accounting Club (President), Beta Alpha Psi-Gamma Psi Chapter (Vice President of MIS), Golden Key International Honour Society (President), International Business Club (Treasurer), Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity (Treasurer), Student Government Association (Ex-Officio Non-voting Member of the Executive Board), Student Investment Trust (Vice-President), Student Senate Organization (Chair), Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow, and the University Assembly (Elected Student Representative). Joe M. Garavaglia was an Elected Student Representative to the University of Missouri-St. Louis University Assembly from August 2003 until August 2006. While on the University Assembly, he served on the Committee on Information Technology of the University Assembly (3 years), the Budget and Planning Committee of the University Assembly (3 years), the Committee on Physical Facilities, Space, and General Services of the University Assembly (3 years), and the Committee on Faculty Teaching and Service Awards of the Faculty Senate (2 years). He also served on the Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology Search Committee (January 2004-August 2004) and the Campus Review Team for the Information Technology Services Five Year Review. Joe M. Garavaglia currently lives in Saint Louis County, Missouri. He is currently working as a Staff Account in the Tax and Business Services department at Stone Carlie and Company, L.L.C. in Clayton, Missouri. In July 2006, Joe M. Garavaglia passed the Missouri Real Estate Salesperson Exam. He is currently a Real Estate Salesperson-Agent at River City Real Estate and is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. Joe M. Garavaglia's goals for 2008 and 2009 include taking and passing the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Exam and taking and passing the Missouri Real Estate Broker Exam. |
